According to internal communications, the new system—called the Model Capability Initiative (MCI)—will record user interactions such as mouse movements, clicks, and keystrokes across selected work-related applications and websites. It will also occasionally capture screenshots to provide context for how tasks are completed.

The goal behind the program is to improve AI performance in areas where machines still struggle to replicate human behavior. Tasks that seem simple to people—like navigating menus, selecting options from dropdown lists, or using keyboard shortcuts—remain challenging for AI systems.
By collecting real-world interaction data, Meta hopes to train its models using authentic examples of how employees perform these actions during their daily workflows.
